Implants
What to Expect: Dental Implant Treatment Phases
One missing tooth. A carefully planned path to restore it. From the initial site to the completed restoration, each phase of implant treatment is planned with balance and precision in mind.
Implant treatment is typically planned in phases: an evaluation (often including 3D imaging) to assess bone and gum health, placement of the implant itself, a healing period during which the implant integrates with the bone, and finally attachment of the visible restoration (a crown, bridge, or denture).
Depending on your anatomy, some patients need additional steps first, such as bone grafting to build up the implant site, or management of an existing infection before an implant can be placed.
Timelines vary by patient—healing time, the number of implants, and whether additional procedures are needed all affect the schedule. Implant treatment requires individual evaluation and is not appropriate for every patient.
