Composite Bonding for a Chipped or Worn Tooth
A chipped or worn front tooth doesn't have to stay that way. Composite bonding is one of the most conservative ways to rebuild shape while preserving a natural appearance.
Bonding uses a tooth-colored composite resin, sculpted directly onto the tooth and hardened with a curing light. Because the material is added in thin layers and shaped by hand, it can closely match the surrounding tooth's shape, shade, and surface texture.
Many bonding procedures for a single chipped or worn tooth can be completed in one visit, without the lab time that a crown or veneer typically requires. That makes it a common first option for small-to-moderate cosmetic and structural repairs.
Bonding is not the right choice for every situation—larger areas of missing tooth structure, bite issues, or teeth under heavy grinding forces may call for a different restoration, such as a veneer or crown. A clinical examination determines which option fits your tooth and your goals.
